Murray River Paddling Reflections – Yarrawonga to Cobram (September 2018)

Four families meet on the banks of the Murray River, a few kilometres downstream from Yarrawonga. At first glance, the river seems so wide that Daisy wonders if it might actually be an ocean. Our group includes eight adults and eleven kids, ranging in age from 3 to 12 years old. We have nine canoes and enough food, drinking water and camping gear to spend four days making our way slowly down the meandering river. It’s a simple plan with a few unknowns. It’s an adventure.

From Diamond Hill to Golden Point – a Ramble of Riches (April 2017)

Our adventure begins somewhere near the top of Diamond Hill in Bendigo. We are a family of four with kids aged four and six. We have two backpacks, two bikes, two panniers and a plan to cycle and walk the Great Dividing Trail to Castlemaine over five days.

Riding Home – From Lilydale to Woodend via the Big River Road and the Great Victorian Rail Trail (December/January 2017)

We begin with the idea of riding home and then wonder where we might actually begin. We hope to discover new places. We are drawn to the mountains, to relatively quiet roads, and to water and places to swim. Eventually we decide to ride up the Yarra River valley and down the Big and Goulburn River valleys, using a combination of rail trails, sealed and unsealed roads, and 4WD tracks. We set off from Lilydale soon after Christmas.
